Jennifer and a group of friends from her gym, CrossFit Punta Gorda, decided to sign up to participate in the Special Olympics Florida Plane Pull last November. They raised funds, designed team shirts that Presley Beane Financial Services helped sponsor, and spent the weekend in Orlando supporting Special Olympics Florida.
The plane pull is exactly what you imagine... 16 people playing tug-o-war with a 50 ton 737 United airplane.
Their team, "Just Plane Tugging It", competed against 22 teams, including many high school football teams, a Nascar pit crew, a SWAT team, Sheriff officers, and the reigning champs - WWE NXT Superstars Wrestlers.
Each team had to pull the plane 12 feet as fast as possible.
Although they didn't place, they felt a sense of accomplishment in completing the pull in about 15 seconds, and were proud of their efforts, team work, and most importantly happy to support such a wonderful cause.
